getting english tv

Hi All, wonder if anyone can help me.

We have a holiday property in the hills above bagni di lucca and would like to have satellite tv.

can anyone please tell me the co ordinates that the dish must be set to to get uk stations - and what stations might i hope to receive (its a sky box but without an up to date card since the digital switchover).

My second question is that i've noticed that some people seem to have their satellite dish attached to the roof tiles rather than the house wall (hadn't realized you could do this) - anyone know where I could buy a bracket for the roof as i think we might benefit from putting it there.

thanks in advance

Hi there. It should be 28.2 degrees East (Astra 2D). Do you have someone to install it for you?

Thanks for that info Purplesally, thats very helpful.

Actually we were thinking of doing it ourselves but the position of the house in respect to nearby properties makes the roof a much better place to site the dish. (and a difficult neighbour)

Also we don't have a very long ladder to get it high up on the wall, but we do have a velux window in the roof - so easy access- which again makes the roof the first choice if anyone can now tell me where to find a suitable bracket please- I dont think the wall one would work up there.
